| Description | EDS is managing the ABN-Amro bank server infrastructure. At the moment this is a heterogeneous environment consisting of almost all major Unix flavors and Windows. At the moment several projects are running targeting migration to one single platform; RedHat Linux. All system roll outs are based on the same hardened Linux built. The Lead Engineer is responsible for this build. Other responsibilities are: - Advising on the future ABN-Amro infrastructure (keywords: virtualization, blade technology, increasing availability and scalability);
- Maintaining the current build;
- Developing new builds on new Linux versions (including migration to 64bit platform and the 2.6 kernel);
- Creating a standard clustered build;
- Creating a vision on the future ABN-Amro infrastructure;
- Design and implementation of the management network;
- Design and implementation of the global ABN provisioning infrastructure (RedHat Satellite based);
- Generalizing the platform for roll out at other EDS customers.
