- Photo Galleries updated

- Some people might have noticed that the Photo Galleries on
this site were behaving in an unexpected way. Instead of a
popup with the photo, the photo was loaded in the main
browser window. This site uses the SilverStripe CMS system.
A Photo Gallery module was made available for this CMS, but
was abandoned some while ago. New versions of SilverStripe
introduced some incompatibilities with this module,
resulting in some code changes to applied each time when
SilverStripe was updated. After the last update, I decided
to resolve the issue in a more permanent way.

- Site in Holiday mode (updated)

- It is the holiday season again. That means that a lot of
people without properly updated computers and virus
scanners have turned on their system again. I think botnets
must be growing wildly during this season. One of the
results from that is that spam prevention services like
Mollom cannot keep up. This site got spammed by lots of IP
numbers not yet registered in the Mollom database. I have a
script running that takes all new comments offline within
the our for me to review it. I'm getting tired of sifting
through all the junk and maybe missing that one valid
comment (on don't get too much of those). So till the
holiday season is ended none of the blog articles will
accept any comments. The site contact form too is taken
offline.

- Broken items on the site

- Some things on this site haven't been working as they
should. For instance, search was broken on the homepage and
blog entries, the photo galleriesdidn't work beyond the
first page and comments have been disabled (again) for some
time.
